Atty M S Gray of Davenport files fire loss suits against the St Joseph and Grand Island railroad seeking 60000 for damage to the village business district of Davenport caused by a May 16 fire attributed to a defective locomotive emitting sparks and hot coals. Gray is aided by Strode Begh tol of Lincoln and represents several fire insurance companies that paid losses. The hearing is expected in the October term of district court.
