George W. Cook killed his wife Sarah A. Cook with a razor then took his own life in a temporary insanity episode. The couple, aged 55 and 48, left ten children. A coroner's jury confirmed the verdict as a fatal act amid family distress. Nearby notes recount local updates and journal notices.
A Wednesday accident in Hanover killed Mrs. Kornbaum and her 19 year old daughter and seriously injured Dr. Chambers. The auto, dragged by a westbound G I crossing train, threw occupants from the vehicle. Dr. Chambers suffered severe arm injuries. Mrs Kornbaum and her daughter died from head and neck injuries. Dr. Taylor aided at the scene and later hospital care followed. The village board held a regular session to sign electric light contracts and appoint a committee for a building project.
