The mother and brother of teacher Ish visited her over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. John Brie of Susan Taylor accompanied the visit on Saturday and Sunday.
The notice requests contact for selling light boxes to C C Andrews Azti at her home. It notes she has been unable to attend to duties due to sickness and mentions carbon paper and a seven line at the Bveee office.
Clara Hahn spends Easter with Daykin parents. Mr and Mrs Francis Clark of Hubbell visit relatives here. Mrs John Kersting and Howard visit Hanover. Omaha aunt with Glen Riddle. Dr O Neil practices Steele City Nebr. Stallions stand for service at 12.50. Mrs S A Taylor ill. Fay Clark returns from Lincoln. Dick Edgington travels to Washington for health. Doris Rosner visits Daykin. Wallace Palmer at home from college. Fern McClellan teaches Gilead school next year.
Steele City Presbyterian Church hosts Presbytery meetings led by Rev. Ross S. McCown and Rev. W. F. Randolph with Dr. L. C. Denise urging ministerial vocation. Endowment fund reached full, homes opened to visitors, meals served, and hospitality praised as enrollment neared fifty by Tuesday noon.
Presbytery conferred the highest honor on elder A. T. Phelps for service in the Presbyterian church. He received 21 votes of 31 to be sent to the General Assembly, which will convene in San Francisco at the end of May.
Beatrice hosted the Annual Sectional Declamatory Contest of District 1 on Tuesday evening April 19. Six schools competed Beatrice Holmesville Lewiston Steele City Tecumseh and Wymore. Steele City's Edna James won Extemporaneous speaking Chas Lowe took second in Dramatics and Lucille Taylor third in Oratory. First place winners advance to the district contest in about two weeks.
Plan to attend Friday April 29 educational day with all territory schools. Program starts 9 30 a m at the opera house with M C Leffler Lincoln Neb superintendent delivering a talk. All activities free and mailed program details to participants.
The church choir rendered The Redeemer Lives with Miss Marsh on piano and portions of the program featuring solos duets and quartets. The hall was fully seated and flowers lit the decorated platform. John Hicks moved to the Bowyer house last Saturday and Mrs Lizzie Nash of Nebraska visits sister Ellen Garrett. The mother of Ed Hughes Mrs Jack Hughes died Tuesday with funeral Thursday. Pete Sands and family moved into the town on Monday.
