Seniors Travel to Omaha for Class Day Activities
Despite poor weather on Thursday April 5 the Seniors left for Omaha for Class Day. They toured Lincoln the same day visiting Central Hotel the State Agriculture College radio station K F A B the State Penitentiary and the Lincoln and Orpheum Theaters. Meals ended with supper in Beatrice then Fairbury before returning to school. The lunch committee raised five dollars for the church pledge and the Girl Reserves received new song books and a letter from Misa Sidiona Schafer in New York. High School Notes mention Mrs Meserve turning down Bennet superintendent post and the Ghost Bird chosen as the senior class play with Mr Casler coaching.

Rocky Hollow County Grading Plans Road Work
The county grading crew worked on roads in Rocky Hollow last week as commissioners visited the area. A Friday storm closed District 3 schools. Mrs. Curry visited the Pearle Nutter home Sunday. Mrs. Stone is ill with flu. Vera Janssen stayed with Mrs. Garret due to bad roads. The mail carrier could not complete the route Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Malady and Goldie Clem visited John Janssen Sunday.

Oldest Residence Burns in Jefferson County Fire
A wooden 10 room house on the Olney homestead burned Tuesday afternoon. The lumber came from J R Switzer, pioneer Jefferson county dealer. Owned by Albert Zweifel and once enlarged by Kennedy, the property suffered a total loss with about 3000 dollars in damage. George Bundy and family previously occupied the dwelling.

New Pastor Accepts Charge at Diller Federated Church
Rev. W. E. Ludwick has accepted the pastorate at the Diller Federated church after serving in Carbondale Kansas Newark Ohio and Seward Lincoln and Greenville. He trained at the Reform Church in Lancaster PA and at Tiffin Ohio in a seven year classical and theological program. The Diller church had been without a minister since Rev. Clark’s resignation nearly a year ago.

The Ladies Aid reports a surprise Easter egg drive with 604 dozen eggs collected. Receipts total about $14.19 and many eggs remain to be distributed. donations should be handed to Mrs. Edgington. Mrs. Duis is credited with the largest single contribution, eleven and a half dozen eggs.
