In the Avoca region two wells reached completion this week. Humble Oil and Refining Co No 15 Holums in the south half of section 190 BBB&C shows initial production of 475 barrels per day. Iron Mountain No 5 Olander in section 195 BBB&C is expected to be gun Thursday after drilling to 3221–3251 feet, extending the Avoca pool south by 660 feet.

Funeral Service Held Here for Mrs J N Porter
Mrs. J N Porter widow of a Wichita Valley railroad roadmaster died near midnight Tuesday at the Wichita Falls home of her daughter Mrs Roy J Mann. She had lived here from 1911 to January and had been bedfast over a year. Kinney chapel conducted the service with Rev Dick O'Brien. Burial was in Highland cemetery beside her husband who died in 1935. Born Ellie Blanche Buckington in Missouri November 3 1860 she married Porter December 16 1879. They lived in Missouri towns before moving to Wichita Falls in 1907 and to this city in 1911. She leaves four daughters nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

State police urged parents teachers and guardians to ensure safe transport to and from schools. Milk Ordinance Allows Grade A Label for Stamford Dairies

Luncheon Clubs Compete In Ticket Book Sale

Stamford leaders win approval for a $20,000 National Guard armory on a city block south of the municipal swimming pool. General Nimon endorsed the site after inspecting alternatives, with Mayor Thomas securing an option on the Swenson ground. Boy Burned in Fire at Home Of R F McNabb
The home of Mr and Mrs B E McNabb southeast of the city limits was seriously damaged Tuesday night. Their year old son John McNabb suffered burns to the shoulders hand and head. Damage to house about 800 with similar furniture cost. Fire department and booster truck controlled blaze. John treated at Stamford Sanitarium and sent home. he may miss school for a couple weeks.
