Alderson to Move His Store to Sudan
Alderson plans to relocate Aldersons store from Stamford to Sudan close to month end and reopen soon in a new brick building in Sudan. He expects improved fixtures and the best store in the territory. Also reports Frank Swartz died suddenly in Laramie and body to be shipped to Kinney Funeral Home with interment in Anson cemetery. The new Young plan calls for Germany to pay about 27 billion dollars over 59 years to the allies.

The Stamford Compress completed a new sheet metal roof and repaired floor space, now ranking as the state’s second largest cotton warehouse in West Texas. The 660 by 320 foot building sits beside the Farmers Warehouse, with 100 by 820 feet, serving as the public weigher for cotton direct from gins. The site houses a Webb high density press, handling export and domestic bale sizes, with up to 2,000 bales per day capacity and a payroll near 100 during peak seasons.

Milton McKinley, 10, suffered a compound fracture of the right ankle with possible amputation initially feared. condition improved by Thursday noon. Three surviving Confederate veterans attended the Stamford Rotary Club meeting, led by Ray Rector who photographed the trio ages 489 86 and 53.
