Jayton Chronicle reports Bryant-Link store suffered a major theft of goods and 15 dollars in cash on Friday night September 14. A Ford car was stolen the same night and found abandoned roadside. Police link the two crimes to the same band, with at least one likely female member, still unidentified.

City manager Chas W. Zug Jr says the Stamford paving program estimated at 2700000 will likely begin about October 20 with notices to property owners this week. A September 24 protest hearing is set and 20 days granted after. If all owners sign petitions by October 20 paving could start sooner. eight inch and four inch mains will be installed to create a circulating system improving fire protection and possibly reducing insurance rates.
