Community Thanksgiving Service Set at Central Presbyterian

The Stamford Ministerial Alliance announces a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Central Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Phillip Watson of First Baptist Church delivers the sermon titled The Spirit of Thanksgiving Based on Thessalonians 3 15. The Rev Larry Thomas of Central Presbyterian gives welcome and invocation. The Rev M R Ido of Calvary Baptist leads readings and benediction. The Rev Jarrell Sharp of St Johns United Methodist offers prayer and offering. Robert Holcomb directs music and Mrs James Self plays organ.

Methodists plan McMurry Fund drive in Seymour District

The Seymour District of the Northwest Texas Conference United Methodist Church launches the McMurry Fund with a weeklong breakfast series starting Nov 25. Cotton Classing Office Reports Week of November 17 Output

The Abilene Cotton Classing Office graded 46 200 samples and reports 30 percent harvest completion in its area. To date 169 006 samples have been graded this season, with White grades at 59 percent and 39 percent in light-spotted grades.

Date Set for Jones County Stock Show at Anson Fairgrounds

The Jones County Livestock Show is scheduled for Saturday January 19 at the Anson fairgrounds. All 4-H members must mail entries to the county agent by Wednesday December 19 with entry fees: cattle two dollars sheep and swine one dollar and rabbits and poultry fifty cents. Albany Holliday bi district game set for Friday in Stamford

Stamford hosts the Albany Lions and Holliday Eagles in a bi district football clash Friday night at 7 30 p m with Albany entering as District 8A champions and Holliday as 7A champions. The Eagles lead with a 10 0 slate while Albany features standout players and a three way coin toss to reach Stamford.

Five Agencies Seek Use of Stamford Center Facilities

Reverend Jarrell Sharp Speaks to Stamford Lions Club

Rev Jarrell Sharp pastor of St John s United Methodist Church addressed the Lions Club of Stamford on Tuesday night. He chairs the advisory board for the Mental Health and Retardation clinic and spoke about the center s remodeling and its planned help in multiple fields. The Lions Club contributed a donation to support the center.

Stamford FFA plans Christmas fruit sale at high school

The Stamford FFA Chapter met at Stamford High School to discuss selling Ruby Red Grapefruits and Texas Naval Oranges for Christmas. Prices are 4.00 per 20 pound box and 6.00 per 40 pound box with delivery about four to five days before Christmas. Call 773-3397 to order if not contacted. Other topics included the Farm Mechanics Contest on December 12 and the Area Livestock Show at the Stamford Quarterhorse barns on January 5.
