Texas Cowboy Reunion grounds near completion of the 10 000 improvement program ahead of the eighth annual reunion on July 1 to 3. A two story pavilion 60 by 100 feet adds ticket offices and exhibits on the first floor with sponsor dances upstairs and two modern restrooms. A new arena lighting system aims to make the rodeo best lit in Texas. Two new horse barns with 44 stalls, new sponsor horse pens, a dam forming a small water lake, a new arena tunnel for stock movement, and a back of grandstands lane for corrals streamline show flow. 1 000 extra bleachers bring total seating to 11 000 with roofed grandstand seating.

Revival Yields 11 Additions at St John’s Methodist
The revival meeting at St John’s Methodist ended Sunday night after draws of crowds and 11 additions to the church. Evangelist Harry S. Allen delivered strong messages with a men and boys address. Children's services drew 271 attendees in the final Friday session and over 260 youths paraded downtown to promote the revival. Allen returns to Dallas en route to a southern Louisiana revival. Clifford Mills also leaves for Rockwall.

The Stamford softball league forms with Bryant-Link Reds and Needles team opening Monday at the municipal field south of the pool. Stamford High School plans to hire a combined band instructor and teacher for the next term. The program will offer an elect ive band course creditable for graduation and may include a nominal fee. Opening Day At Stamford Pool Draws City And Visitors
A large crowd from Stamford and nearby towns attended the municipal pool opening last Sunday with many youngsters taking their first swim of the season. Adults delayed their plunge while youths swam daily this week. Manager Gordon Haynes cited plans for several pool parties and a high school choral club outing. Eight local Red Cross life savers guard the pool in rotating shifts led by Virgil Stanley with Rob Watson and others listed.

Funeral Service Held For J A Middleton In Stamford
John Albert Middleton aged 67 longtime Stamford resident died at home on East Hamilton Street. The First Baptist Church service was led by Rev. P C Williams with two other ministers. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery. Survivors include his widow two sons Wayne and Dayle two daughters Mrs Byron Lewis and Mrs S P Nyeum and Leta Mae Middleton and two grandchildren. Kinney Funeral Home directed arrangements.

A residence at Orient and Knet Hamilton streets occupied by J. D. Rambo and family and owned by R. B. Spencer & Co was damaged by fire last Friday afternoon The blaze started from an off stove used to heat bath water and gained headway before discovered by those at the Rambo store across the street Damage to the building was estimated at 750 with insurance covering it and 300 for personal losses Practically all clothing was destroyed and furniture damaged before the fire department contained the blaze The Rambo family member is employed by the Stamford American.
