Three Men And Quantity Liquor Caught In Raid
Three men and twelve half gallon jars of whiskey were seized by Stamford and Haskell officers Wednesday night last week. Deputy Sheriff M G Pugh of Stamford and Constable Ivy of Haskell conducted the raid. Two men were arrested in Stamford and one over the line in Haskell county. The trio were taken to jail at Anson and charged with selling and transporting whiskey. Pugh urged cooperation of law abiding citizens to enforce the law.

Mad dog attack shocks Lueders area
Lueders buzzes after a mad dog bit dogs cows and a girl on her way from school. The child, daughter of Mr and Mrs Collie Walls, remains a focus of concern as locals cull animals feared infected. The attacking dog was killed by a cow protecting her calf.

Casing Set in Larson No 1 Well Near Stamford
Interest rose after rumors of gas and oil at Marian Oil's Larson No 1 well eight to ten miles east of Stamford. Sunday inspection found no gas or oil but eight inch casing was being set. well depth reached 1860 feet before a cave at the bottom. Guests of relatives in Hamlin included Mr. and Mrs. O G Lewis and their children.

Thirty five visitors from Anson attended the Stamford Rebekah Lodge meeting last Thursday night bringing total attendance to seventy.
