Bobby Prichard, a Reynolds School sixth grader in Stamford, won the Jones County spelling bee over 21 contestants to become 1965 Jones County champion. Debbie Franklin finished second after a face off. Kathy Moore took third. The county bee is sponsored by the Stamford Junior Chamber of Commerce with trophies for top finishers.

South Africans Visiting in City for Agriculture Training
Three natives of the Union of South Africa visited Stamford this week and attended the Rotary Club luncheon. Dr Maree and Hendrik Roux of Johannesburg and Dave Fourie of Pretoria are here for agricultural training and may stay several months. They came on tourist visas while efforts are made to change their status to student classification.

Camp Fire Girls Plan Annual Dad Daughter Dinner
The Camp Fire Girls in Stamford announce their annual Dad Daughter Banquet to be held Tuesday at 7 pm at the National Guard Armory. Farm Placement Man to Visit Stamford for Help Wanted

Police Arrest Two 10 Year Olds In Break-Ins
Stamford police arrested two 10-year-old Latin American boys in connection with multiple break-ins this week. Much of the stolen merchandise was recovered and investigations continue into three burglaries at local school facilities. The targets included gymnasium cafeteria and a trailer belonging to Key City Electric Co.
