Roosting Birds at Stamford Post Office Put Down
Stamford police and firemen joined forces Monday night to reduce a bird nuisance at the post office lawn. Seven officers and firefighters with shotguns killed a large number of roosting birds, mainly cowbirds and sparrows, with an estimated 600 to 1000 birds slain.

Fire Department Answers Three Calls Last Week
The Stamford Fire Department fought three minor blazes last week. A Weldon Walker farm fire started by a butane heater explosion damaged the house but not beyond repair. A space heater sparked a wall fire at 903 S Anson, stopped with minor damage. A grass fire burned near Radio Station KDWT at 11 43 a m Sunday.

City to Install Booster Pump on Water Line

Charles Ray Baker was arrested by city police and charged with assault after a late Saturday fight. Baker was fined $25 by City Judge R. K. Rowland on February 20. The other participant, described as a Haskell negro, remains at large.
