A long Sunday radio program from the First Baptist Church Stamford will air from 6 am to around 5 pm on 1420 k.c. The non commercial station will feature Rev. Sam Morris, organist Mrs. Tayman, pianists Mrs. Lester and Miss Thompson, and a noon church orchestra segment. Visitors may tour the studio and an offering will fund equipment. An evangelistic evening message closes the day with baptismal services planned prior.

C E Vickrey deputy collector of internal revenue will be at the Stamford post office Thursday March 9 to help taxpayers prepare income returns. No charge for the service. New laws in 1932 widen who must pay taxes with exemptions lowered to 1000 for singles and 2500 for married with each child 400. P P Berthelot aged 62, first mayor of Stamford, died at his home after a long illness following a fall that broke his hip. Funeral at Kinney Funeral Home Friday at 4 p m with Rev Paul Mosler likely to officiate. Survived by wife, son Paul Berthelot of Houston, and stepson Newell Berry, both of Houston. He was a devout St Thomas Catholic and an honorary Stamford Rotary Club member.

Rev J J Lockhart Dies In Head On Car Crash
Rev J J Lockhart 79 died after a Whippet coupe collided head on with a Pontiac driven by Charles Morrow of Hamlin four miles southwest of Stamford at 3 15 Sunday. Morrow and passengers were uninjured or slightly hurt. funeral held at his Abilene home with burial in Abilene cemetery. He long served as a Baptist minister and is survived by a large family.

Woodrow French Killed by Accidental Shot
A Hamlin High School senior Woodrow French aged 17 was fatally shot by an accidental shotgun discharge while hunting near Tuxedo Sunday afternoon. The gun was held by 12 year old A J French Jr. who was hunting with Woodrow and his brothers Jack and Karl. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Tuxedo with burial in Fairview cemetery.

Stamford Woman Injured When Car Hits Loose Shoulder
Mrs. Harris Huntsman of Stamford sustained a pelvic fracture and facial lacerations when her Ford roadster, driven by Mrs. Randolph Roberts, struck a loose shoulder on the Sagerton highway and collided with a truck. Mrs. Roberts suffered a broken right arm and head cuts. Connorlius was bruised with two broken bones. The Roberts five month old daughter escaped injury. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts were hospital discharged Wednesday night.
