Freeman Hampton Oil Refinery Planned for Lueders
The Freeman Hampton Oil Corporation will build a refinery in Lueders near the M. E. T. Railroad west of the Methodist Church. Construction begins on a four mile pipeline February 19, with six employee houses planned and local men to be employed.

Stamford Bowling Team Wins Two Out Of Three Contests
The Stamford bowling team won two of three matches against out of town teams last week. On Friday at Haskell alley Stamford defeated Haskell 2847 to 2768 led by Black Capps Adams Overby and Veteta. Tuesday at home Stamford beat Anson 2771 to 2585 with West Black Capps Luttrell and Overby contributing. Anson won at Anson 2342 to 1675. Wednesday the Black Cats defeated the Millers 2082 to 1236 in a three game match.

L. Meyer of Burkburnett will open the Palace Theater in the Carlton building on Stamford’s square within 30 days. The sound equipped venue will feature RCA systems and upholstered seats with no admission price increase for films from Metro Goldwyn Mayer Fox and RKO. Meyer, with eight years in Burkburnett show business, will personally run the Stamford house while also managing a Marlin theater interests.

Farmer Injured When Calf Frightens Mules
J. M. Proctor of Stamford was dragged forty yards by four runaway mules after a stray calf frightened the team while he planted oats four miles west of Stamford. He escaped with bruises and scratches and is resting well at Stamford Sanitarium.
