Mrs. E. B. Harrison Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. E B Harrison died Friday at 3 30 PM at her Reynolds Street home after two years of illness and a paraly sis episode followed by a second stroke. She was 57 and a longtime Stamford resident active in Central Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 30 PM at the church, with Rev J M Youree and Rev Fred Bowers officiating and W P McDonald leading a special mass. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Surviving are her husband E B Harrison a son W B Harrison a daughter Mrs E J Kennedy of Houston three sisters Mrs Wok Harrison Mrs Mary Walsh Mrs G Finn and two brothers C L Sanders J R Sanders plus several out of town relatives.

Plans for an Easter carnival or spring festival are under consideration by the Retail Merchants Association. Secretary R C Thomas says the directors will discuss the idea soon. Charley Herpeche drove a Ford to win the local mileage contest conducted by Townsend Motor Co on a route from the filling station near the city to Anson and Lueders. Twenty-one Fords entered with drivers including Mrs Leale Larche in the closed car class. The overall average for all twenty-one cars was 42.4 miles per gallon amid a strong headwind and sealed tanks. The final stage for regional winners was scheduled for Stamford with a $400 prize.
