Story of a Cowboy Writer and Life on the Range
An autobiographical piece features Frank M. King, a lifelong cowhand and writer based in Los Angeles, recounting his roots from El Monte California born 1863 and early life breaking horses in Texas. He traces moves across Texas Oklahoma Arizona and New Mexico, notes diverse work from peace officer to editor, and cites acting as a cattleman while reflecting on the enduring pull of the cowboy life. References to contests and other cowhand figures appear within the reminiscence.
