66 Winners Turn In Good Rides and Post Fast Times
Last year at the Texas Cowboy Reunion delivered fast riding and strong showings. Leroy Hodges of Tuscola set a calf roping mark in 1964 and posted top times in 1966 with a three calf total of 35.4. Judy Deatherage of Anson won the cowgirl sponsor barrels with a 21.1, beating Joy Rose of Gainesville who rode a 21.2. The event featured many great riders, including Royce McLaury of Paducah earning the saddle in double mugging with a 58.4 three calf total, and John Wallace of Haskell winning a special saddle for a 30-second two calf performance. The Texas Cowboy Reunion showcased the era’s best ropers and barrel riders with celebration of horse and rider skill.
