DDT Fog Causes False Fire Alarms Citywide

Last week the city’s DDT fog spraying prompted numerous false fire alarms as residents mistook the fog for flames. The Aubrey Adams four apartment residence on East Reynolds Street was reported as a fire scene, though no residents heard of it and the building was unharmed. The Roy Arledge barn also sparked calls, with skepticism from bystanders before firefighters arrived and contained the blaze. The fogging, aimed at insect control, was used again during a Sunday spray in Anson.
