New Texas Criminal Code Raises County Court Costs

W L Dub Sims has been hired to head the vocational agriculture department at Throckmorton high school. He previously taught vocational agriculture at Eastland High School for three years and holds a B S from Texas A M University. Sims excelled in calf feeding and exhibited the reserve grand champion steer at the 1955 Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show in Fort Worth. Former Stamford Resident Drives Wagon to Texas Reunion
C. T. Rasco formerly of Stamford, now an officer with the Top 6 Texas Rodeo Association in Pampa, will bring his wagon train to Aspermont and Stamford for the Texas Cowboy Reunion. Stamford Guard Battery C 1st Battalion 131st Artillery returned from summer camp as the division’s best artillery firing battery with an excellent rating. Battery CC commanded by Capt. Arnold J. Wedeking scored 94.88, just shy of a superior rating, as the Texas National Guard faces possible reorganization this fall. The Stamford unit comprises 55 enlisted men and 3 officers led by Capt. Wedeking, with Lt. Jack Fulwhler and 2nd Lt. Charles Mullican among the staff aligned to the 31st Artillery battalion headquartered in Abilene.

Funeral services for Jess Hill 72 were held Wednesday at 2 p m in the Orient Street Church of Christ where he was a member.
