First Report on Industrial Survey Set for July 20
J E Bradley head of the Industrial Economics Research at Texas A and M told Stamford Rotary Club that the industrial development study will deliver a report July 20. The survey, sponsored by the Stamford Chamber of Commerce and city, is led by John Miley and Arthur Whatley from Texas Engineering Experiment Station. The study seeks factors affecting location taxes utilities labor and more to identify profitable industries for Stamford and guide a local program.

Two Men Indicted for Dairy Mart Burglary in Anson
The 104th District grand jury in Anson returned indictments for Cecil Ray Williams of McCauley Route 1 and Roger Coleman for burglary of the Dairy Mart on the Anson Highway after police surprised the burglars as they fled. Also indicted were Jimmy Lee Wise for church burglary and Gabriel Garcia Amarillo and William Eugene Lee Abilene for second offense driving while intoxicated, plus Don Baylor Amason for theft by false pretenses.

Improvement Work To Start On U S Highway 277 Project
TCO Inc of White Deer begins a Texas Highway Commission project on U S Highway 277 from the M E T Railroad overpass southwest of Stamford to the U S 83 north of Anson. The contract totals 274 519.93 for grading and structures to add two lanes. A June 25 safety conference in Anson included the contractor and state police to coordinate traffic safety during construction.
