A sky-diving exhibition a military flyover and aircraft displays will mark Stamford Municipal Airport improvements. A final planning meeting is set for Tuesday to polish the program for Saturday June 21 featuring a street parade at 9 am and a noon luncheon for dignitaries. Burns Victim Dies Thursday In San Antonio
Donald Shelly 34 of Stamford died Thursday at Brooke Army Medical Center San Antonio after a butane gas explosion injuries. He lived in Stamford most of his life, moved to Arizona and California, and returned two months ago. Funeral Saturday at Kinney Chapel with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Survived by wife, children, mother, siblings, and step children. Pallbearers listed.

George Ashburn Service Held At Meadow
Services for 72 year old George FE Ashburn of Meadow were held June 1 at First Baptist Church in Brownfield. Officiants were Rev. Cletus Caswell and Rev. Rodney Dowdy. Burial followed in Meadow Cemetery. He died in a two car collision 12 miles northeast of Taloka. A retired farmer, Ashburn moved to Meadow in 1942 from Jones County. He was WWI veteran and a member of the Meadow Mas Mi Lodge. He married Tommie Elizabeth Camp in 1920 in New Mexico. Survivors include his wife, three sons J. B. of Plains, George Jr. and Tommy of Meadow, two sisters Ruth Apperson and Mary May of Stamford, six brothers Ben of Stamford, Tom of Lockney, Dan of Sarasota Fla, Jim of Bonners Ferry Idaho, Joe of Fallon Nev, and A. J. of Hale Center, and six grandchildren.
