Lueders Sees Four New Oil Producers Start
Lueders, June 5. Four new producing oil wells are planned seven miles east of town on the Bluff Creek lease. Roser Pendelton Oil Company is drilling, Miller Brothers hold the contract for five wells, and a new well was expected to come in this week.

The two story brick building on the south side of the square formerly occupied by The American was sold to T. A. Upshaw and E. D. Jones. Work began to rebuild after a January 3 fire, with a roof first to shield remaining structure and upstairs timing limited to a metal ceiling and painted walls. Lower floor will be finished for a store or business as repairs continue to erase fire damage on the south square.

The Stamford parade featured the Firemen's Band eight mounted cowboys and a Buie-Crawford truck promoting the Texas Cowboy Reunion set for June 26 27 and 28. A 12 foot high four foot wide 1400 pound Goodyear monster tire from Akron Ohio toured Stamford Monday. Mounted on a wheell and yoke it rode in a trailer to the Bible Tire Store where crowds viewed it. Jack Plunkett assistant manager said the tire traveled over 16000 miles in the U S Canada and Mexico with little wear.

The Stamford Firemen's Band, after a three day engagement at the West Texas Chamber of Commerce in Abilene, resumes Thursday evening concerts at Harmon Park at 8 o clock led by Dick Rowland. The program opens with Anchor's Aweigh and The Ranger Song among others as part of a season of twelve performances scheduled through June July and August.
