Four Stamford Boys Named to Boys State Delegation
Four Stamford juniors destined for senior year are selected for Boys State. Ricky Giles is chosen by the Rotary club, Jack Mills by the Exchange club, Morris Hammer by the VFW, and Carl Reed by the American Legion. All are active in activities and hold leadership roles.

Wild-Cow Milking A Popular Texas Cowboy Reunion Event
The Texas Cowboy Reunion shows July 1 2 and 4 feature wild-cow milking a crowd favorite. Contestants swap roles if a rope misses and milk must fill a small bottle before judging. Also on offer are bull riding calf roping saddle bronc bareback riding cutting horse cloverleaf barrel racing and special events for GI's former GTs and old-time cowboys. A daughter Carmen Cedibbo was born to Mr and Mrs Nick Cedillo of Stamford on May 27 weighing eight pounds three ounces.

Mrs Shelton's Father Dies in California
TM. O'Steen aged 3, father of Mrs. R. C. Shelton of this city, died May 19 in Long Beach California. Funeral was held June 22 at Ballinger First Methodist Church. Mrs Shelton had been with her father in California for weeks. Earl O'Steen of Garden Grove formerly of Stamford is also a son. Other children are M. L. O'Steen of Abilene and T. L. O'Steen of Vernon. Survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and sister Mrs P. M. McKinnon of San Angelo. Stamford friends attended the funeral in Ballinger.

Cristena Terry Receives Degree at Central Christian College
Cristena Terry of Stamford joined 191 seniors at Central Christian College as she earned a Li degree in education with a minor in English. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Strand and a 1951 Stamford High School graduate. B. F. Sisk of Fresno will deliver the commencement address at 7 pm May 30, with James O. Baird to preach the baccalaureate sermon on May 29.

Marilou Douthit Wins Honors at Tarleton State College
Marilou Douthit of Avoca has been elected vice president of OWLS at Tarleton State College. She serves as news editor of the J TAC and will be assistant editor next year after earning a silver medal for outstanding student publications work. The freshman home economics major is active in Aggettes and Home Economics Club.
