A 13 year old Velma Lou Boyd of McCaulley sustained compound fractures to both arms and a fractured left hip when a cable forming an improvised trolley broke while she played near her Stamford home Monday. Her parents rushed her to the Stamford Sanitarium where she remained unconscious until morning. condition later reported favorable though serious.

A fire at Laeders Drug Store destroyed the building Thursday morning and the adjacent City Drug Store suffered slight damage. The City Drug had been acquired by Lindsey Drug Co. of Stamford and Abilene. Stamford fire department responded at 7:25 a.m. but the Laeders building was nearly destroyed before arrival. Origin of the fire not determined.

Mrs. Delbert Blackstock Dies in Los Angeles
Stamford relatives learn of the death of Mrs. Delbert Blackstock in Los Angeles California. Funeral services are set for Friday afternoon there. She was formerly Miss Santa Smith of Avoca and wife of Delbert Blackstock son of Mr and Mrs John Blackstock pioneers of Jones County. The couple moved to California about 15 years ago. Surviving are a daughter Mrs Jack Rowson and a son Wayne Blackstock. A son was born to Mr and Mrs RK EK Yates of Stamford at the hospital Wednesday night.

Fuqua matriarch dies. large family gathered in Waxahachie
R G Fuqua of Stamford rushed to Waxahachie as his mother Lydia Fuqua pioneer Ellia county resident died after hospital admission Saturday. She died Sunday at 3 20 pm with all six living children and most of her 37 grandchildren present. Surviving children include Edward Fuqua Waxahachie Holder Fuqua Santa Fe and Joelin Kirk Littlefield Modern Watters Lawton Ovie Smith McKinney. Her husband BR H Fuqua died in 1914. Thirty six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild survive.
