Bank Bandits Pursued by Stamford Officers
Chief of Police G G Flournoy and Stamford officers chased Albany bank robbers after a noon robbery. Initial tips said they fled toward Stamford or Abilene, but authorities captured the two by a Baylor county sheriff near Seymour in a two hour running gun battle. Suspects named include James Lucas of Breckenridge and a Kaw City Oklahoma ex convict.

Abilene Man Dies From Auto Wreck Injuries
Roy Woods aged 33 of Abilene died at Stamford Sanitarium after injuries from a wreck near Lueders. His companion Miss Ethel Duff, about 25, is in critical condition with facial injuries. The couple, wearing swimsuits, were struck by an oil truck after leaving a side road and were thrown 90 feet. The truck occupants suffered minor injuries.
