Youth Confesses To Six Forgeries In Examining Trial
An 18 year old, identified as B. J. Lindley of six miles north of Stamford, confessed to forging six checks totaling 13.00 at an examining trial in City Hall. He said the checks bore the name Wofford with varying initials and claimed it was his first arrest.

Two Brothers Injured as Truck Overturns on Anson Highway
Weatherford brothers F. E. Dalton and George Dalton were injured when a tomato truck left the road near Stamford, overturned in a ditch after a tire blowout at about 3:30 a.m. One brother was pinned but escaped serious injury. another brother drove ahead to Anson.

Local Scouts Start Summer Camp At Indian Village Site
Boy Scout troops 41 and 42 depart for a ten day camp at Flat Top under scout master Fred Pauling of troop 40. The site is an old Indian village camp built by troop 40 with daily hikes games swimming and study periods. Roane 40 plans a longer vacation, including Carlsbad Cavern and a trip into Mexico next month.

Baptists Revival Under Way and a Death in Avoca
John Edling 89 prominent Erie farmer and former ranch owner died at his son Swan ling’s home six miles east of Stamford from a heart attack. He had been confined to bed and ill for a time then active. Funeral at Swedish Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl with Haterius officiating followed by interment beside his wife who died in 1926. Born October 7 1844 in Alfta Sweden he came to the United States in 1880 and lived in Travis county before moving to Jones county in 1911. Survived by four children and thirteen grandchildren. Pallbearers listed including Lundgren Olson Seth Stenholm Newquist Younggquist.

Prominent Cattleman Henry Kennedy Killed in July Fourth Crash
Henry B. Kennedy of Post died from a skull fracture after an auto crash north of town last Wednesday night. H. D. Robinson of Jayton, driving, and Mrs. Henry McCoy for Rule, injured, were treated and released. Funeral services held at Post Cemetery with burial arrangements by Osment Barrow Funeral Home. Kennedy, born 1875 in Grayson County, left a widow and five children with cattle interests around Post.

A local pastor conducts nightly services on an open lot opposite the Presbyterian church at 8:30 p.m. Attendees are urged to bring chairs or pillows and wear work clothes.
