Fire Destroys Stamford Cotton Oil Mill Warehouse
A large warehouse at Stamford Cotton Oil Mill burned Tuesday afternoon, destroying cottonseed feed and pellets and several machinery pieces. The 150 by 200 foot sheet iron building, 3 to 4 feet off the ground, burned overnight with flames fed by air ducts. Insurance says rebuilding will occur after settlement. the Stamford Fire Department limited spread to nearby structures.

Election Called On Consolidation of School Districts
The election on consolidating Old Glory and Aspermont school districts is set for August 5 at Old Glory and Aspermont. Petitions were presented to County Judge Warren Frazier last week. Old Glory and Aspermont are the only two remaining Stonewall County districts. Old Glory logged an average daily attendance of 72.3 pupils in 1968-69.
