Federal census figures for Jones County cover November 16 to 20. Of 24 233 residents 483 were unemployed and seeking work, 708 were unemployed and seeking more work, with 215 on WPA NYA CCC programs and 268 out of work and seeking full employment. F T Lemmons 67 of Stamford died of pneumonia at Stamford Sanitarium Monday night. Funeral held Tuesday at Barrow Funeral chapel with Rev. Dick O'Brien officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery. Born August 20 1870 in Tennessee, he lived in Stamford since 1920. Survived by wife died in 1937 two daughters Merle Donald and H H Norman and three sons W J T and B R Lemmons and eight grandchildren.

Beautification Work Started On City Parks

J.1. Howard a 28 year old Haskell County farmer was killed instantly when the car he rode in crashed into a truck about a mile south of Haskell on Highway B30. His brothers Hollie 26 and O A Treadwill 19 were injured and taken to Stamford Sanitarium. truck driver Francie Blake was uninjured. Investigators from Holden funeral and county officers are conducting the accident inquiry.
