Exchange Club Hears Talk On Work With Boys
The Stamford Exchange Club met at the Stamford Inn on Friday January 20 for a noon session. Harry Fuller and Pickens Smith were welcomed as visitors. Fuller spoke on Boy Scout work and Smith contributed remarks. The group formed a temporary court with a Grand Jury and an indictment was issued against a member for trial the following Friday January 27. Members were urged to attend or face prosecution by Horn Tooter, the prosecuting attorney. Reverend M B Harris, Judge and Mrs Coombes and family, and others attended a missionary lecture in Abiine Sunday evening.

Escaped Prisoner Seeks Admission To Jones County Jail
Haskell Hill who escaped from Jones county jail on Monday returned Wednesday morning knocking at the door and asking for admission. He says a desire to go home prompted the break after transporting liquor charges. Hill traveled from Anson to Stamford and Throckmorton before mother refused him entry and he repaid the jail with a walk back. He is set for trial next Monday.
