Anson Man Dies After Weekend Shooting
Albert A C Nelson, 39, of Anson died Sunday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital after a Saturday night shooting in the 400 block West Davenport. Jessie Lee Polk, 27, of Stamford, was charged with murder in 104th District Court and released on a $10 000 bond after the weekend incident. Nelson, born April 15 1936 in Anson, served in the U S Air Force and is survived by one brother and six children. Burial was at Anson Cemetery.

Exhibitors from throughout Jones County gather in Anson Saturday January 17 for the annual Jones County Livestock Show at the county fairgrounds. The Jones County courthouse issued 186 marriage licenses and recorded 107 divorces plus a few annulments in 1975.
