Wild Chase in Three Counties Ends in Arrest of Haskell Man

A 27 year old Morris Elbert McDonald of Haskell led a 75 mile chase across Jones Haskell and Knox counties from Stamford to Knox City after a hit and run. He pled guilty in two justice courts facing multiple charges including speeding failure to stop and render aid and driving without proper clearance. He was jailed in Haskell with fines totaling 377 dollars and possible four months more if time not concurrent.

Darden Deceased in Stamford After Five-Year Illness

A L Darden 70 resident of Jones County since 1906 died Monday at 9 15 p m at 605 North Swenson Avenue. Funeral held Wednesday 10 a m at Kinney Funeral Home chapel with Silas Triplett minister. burial in Fairview Cemetery. Survived by wife Neta Hale four sons a brother sister and six grandchildren. Kay Lynn Edwards Breaks Arm Third Time

Lynn Edwards, name withheld age, broke her left arm in a fall at the family Christmas tree on Saturday night. She was treated at Stamford Sanitarium and underwent bone surgery on Tuesday. The same arm previously broke on November 21, 1954 and September 2. Mrs. C. C. B. Anderson returns home this week as her mother improves after illness in Sherman.

Coaches Remembered by Stamford Bulldog Fund Drive

The Stamford Quarterback Club raised $2000 for Bulldog coaches of the title winners. Head Coach Gordon Wood received 45 percent, Assistant Coach O M Isbell got 22 percent, and Coaches Bill Anderson and Larry Wartes shared 16 14 percent.
