Truman Cannon, missing liquor salesman, remains at large after his bloodstained car was found near Snyder. The Rotary Club sponsors a Christmas party for Mexican children at West Side Baptist Church Monday at 7 pm. All Mexican children are invited to attend. Bags of fruit and nuts will be given to each child. The International Service committee led by Dr. A. D. John M. Franklin Buried After Lingering Illness
John M. Franklin, 49, died Thursday afternoon at his mother’s home west of Stamford after a long illness. Funeral services were held Friday at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. E. A. Reed officiating. He was a native of Alabama and had lived in the area for years. Survivors include two sons Ira and Willie Franklin of Reed, Oklahoma, his mother and stepfather, two sisters Gene Arp and A. F. Stevens of Stamford, and two brothers J. L. Franklin of Stamford and C F. Franklin of New Roads, Louisiana.
