The Will Rogers Memorial Fund drive in Stamford closed with a total of 78.11 dollars. Fort Worth will receive the funds this week with contributor names and amounts listed. New gifts include C. L. City Well Yields Oil Then Plans Deeper Drill
Drilling resumed on the Peckham Danciger No. 1 City of Stamford well after a Tuesday test found oil in the Cook sand at 1810 to 1812 feet. The Chisholm Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, will hold its annual meeting at the Hilton Hotel Abilene on Monday December 30 starting at 3 p.m. The gathering marks 25 years of the council with plans to enroll 200 new scouts by January 1 and to place a trained first aid scout on every school bus. Born February 8 1849 in Whitefield County Georgia she married A H Meredith in 1855 and moved to Texas in 1857.
