Rule Couple Hurt When Car Overturns En Route To Fire
Mrs. Leslie Lewis sustained a fractured pelvis when the car carrying her husband and three children overturned three miles south of Rule on Saturday night about 9 30. Mr. Lewis lost control rushing to a fire at a neighbor. They were taken to Stamford Sanitarium. he had minor cuts and bruises while Mrs. Lewis had head and hand lacerations along with the fracture. the three children were uninjured. The fire proved to be a haystack, not a house.

New CWA Projects Began in Jones County Last Week
Union reports three CWA projects started last week employing fifty men with two more approved this week. In precinct 3, 20 workers under supervisor Irvin Sanders cleared a 60 foot right of way six miles south of Anson linking to the Funston and Hawley road to provide a long awaited outlet. A second precinct 2 project added 20 workers, a bridge maintenance crew repaired hazards across all bridges in the precinct. North of Luederstown near highway 83 another ten men began about 1400 feet of gravelling for washed out sections. Workers on CWA projects will receive compensation under the 1916 federal act and EEC rules if injured.

Lonnie Tucker a 19 year old youth was critically burned Thursday morning when a coal oil can exploded at his home four miles south of Anson Two brothers smothered the flames and beat out the fire as Tucker ran into another room He started the fire in a wood stove at about 6 am when he poured the oil from a gallon can on the blaze and the can exploded Engulfed in flames he was rushed to the Stamford Sanitarium and was not expected to live through the night
