CWA road projects expand to sixty men in precinct
Sixty men are now at work on three CWA road projects in the precinct. A bridge building and maintenance crew of 20 is repairing and building bridges. Drainage work on highway 83 near New Hope area employs others, while a project started last week added 50 men on the school bus road near New Hope. Frank M. Funeral Service For J. B. Carlson Held Friday
Obituary notes J. B. Carlson born in Sweden in 1848 died December 5 at 85. Services conducted by Rev. Haterius and Rev. Back is broken when cow falls on milker near Rule
Wayne W. Denison, 42, suffered a broken back when a cow toppled onto him while milking at his home four miles north of Rule Tuesday around 7 am. He was moved to Stamford sanitarium at 3:30 pm after a Rule physician assessed the injury. Denison was in a stall when the unruly cow tried to turn in the narrow space and fell, pinning him.

Railroad official tours by railcar on rails
S. A. Covington transportation superintendent of the M K T railroad toured Stamford Tuesday on a regular inspection. He drove a Ford sedan fitted with special steel rims and flat tread tires to run on train rails, costing less wear on tires and rails. Officials say installing such gear for passenger service could save money and boost competition, with a view to wider use in a few years.

Farm Worker Victim Of Attack In Jurisdictional Incident
J. S. Dodson a 35 year old farm worker from Jacksboro was attacked while asleep on a Rotan area farm. He suffered a fractured skull and was later moved from Rotan to Stamford for treatment. His savings hidden in a tobacco can were not stolen and investigators seek assailants. He is improving and is expected to recover.

The funeral of W B Amerson 62 prominent farmer and early Jones county settler was held Thursday at 2 pm at St John s Methodist Church. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery near Tuxedo with arrangements by W N Kinney Funeral Home. He died at his North Stamford home after a three week illness from tphus fever and pneumonia. Survived by wife Lilly Morris Amerson daughter Vida and three sisters and four brothers.
