A kerosene lamp incident started a blaze that consumed the three room home of Jesse Anghorne in the northeastern part of the town. Anghorne belched a lamp from a bucket of kerosene, igniting the oil. Firefighters arrived late. the house and all contents were lost despite partial insurance of about £600 and furniture valued at £200 not insured.
A cache of Santa letters from Stamford and Lueders Texas expresses children requests for dolls trains candy fruit and nuts. Several missives note address quirks and late submissions for a Christmas issue with more letters to be published in the Christmas number.

Funds will be turned over to United Charities to relieve Stamford’s suffering. A charity concert at City Auditorium Monday night at 7 40 features Stamford artists. Admission 25 cents for adults and 15 cents for schoolchildren. Donations of clothing or toys welcomed at the hall entrance by Wad Swenson who oversees ticket sales. Net proceeds benefit United Charities for the most needed. Organizing committee chaired by LM York with A M Hees WC Leavitt and T Tuveles. women’s committee chaired by Mrs G S Zachary.
Nutritionist Helen Paynter of the Red Cross releases a detailed outline of her follow up plan. She will meet at Kent Intermediate on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday at Conteal Ward School. home visits and physical examinations occur on Wednesday afternoons, with PTA conflicts noted. She will hold office hours at various sites including Memar Heights and City Hall. Friday mornings feature visits to Heviolis elementary, with Friday afternoons at the elementary school. The schedule resumes after December 2 with weekly Tuesday afternoon meetings and adjustments for holidays.
Priscorat Church plans a Christmas pageant titled We Would Bee Joane at 7:00 p.m. on December 21 in the Episcopal church. The program includes tableaux such as Anouneration and The Nativity with local cast members Vi rgina Mod Joan Ranes Beverly Hart and more. A Christmas tree will follow the performances.
