Funeral services for Bernice Hewett were held in Knab Nebraska December 6.

The Stamford School for Little People will present a pantomime of The Christmas Story at the Stamford Pierian Club meeting at Oliver School Cafetorium. Sth Grade Takes Consolation in B'wood Tourney
Stamford eighth graders won the consolation trophy in the Brownwood Invitation with an 8 19 victory over San Angelo after an opening 37 26 loss to Brownwood. Freshmen also fared poorly, while Monday action saw wins from the freshmen and losses by the seventh and eighth grades to Hamlin and Roby.

Bethel Lutheran Church marks its 60th anniversary and homecoming with the play A Lane of Promise, presented November 26 by Bethel members. The production follows four generations of Swedish settlers, their church and school, through nostalgic scenes in Swedish era dress. The event honored long-serving pastor Dr. Haterius and his wife with a new scholarship from the Business Women's Wiling Workers, and included a post show social hour as hundreds attended.
