Bill Ray to Move to Fort Worth Territory

H D club women from Jones and Shackelford counties hosted an encampment at The Baptist Encampment Grounds near Leuders with 179 registrations on day one and more than 300 attendees by Tuesday. Miss Millié Halsey and Miss Sue Bonner led the program. Judge Otis Miller spoke Wednesday night. the camp closed Thursday evening.

Father and Son in Wreck Hospitalized in Texas
B A Lane, 42, and his 12 year old son Lewis of Electra lie with fractured skulls at Stamford Sanitarium after a six mile west of Stamford wreck on the Anson highway Sunday morning. Willard Parsons, 13, also of Electra, suffered minor cuts and bruises and was dismissed Sunday afternoon. Lane, a janitor at Electra High School, was driving to Sweetwater for a vacation when the crash occurred after the Chevrolet struck the wire barrier near California Creek and left side impact. Charles Lane, the oldest son, joined at the bedside from Wichita Falls.

First Bale Of 1933 Cotton For Lueders On Wednesday
Lueders received its first bale of 1933 cotton on Wednesday afternoon. The bale weighed 1760 pounds seed cotton and yielded 472 pounds of lint, bought by G. E. Douthit at 9.10 per pound. A $45.50 premium was raised by local merchants and citizens. Contributing firms and individuals include King and Herrick, Rockwell Bros. Lumber Co, H. E. First Cotton Bale Arrives At Stamford In 1933 Season
George Grey of three and a half miles southeast of Lueders delivered the first bale of 1933 cotton to Stamford on Monday at 3 30 p m The bale weighed 460 pounds and was ginned at the Douthit gin. Arnold Douthit bought it for nine cents a pound with an $18 50 local merchant premium bringing the total to 59 90. Grey said he has at least five more bales ready and expected a second bale by Saturday. A list of local contributors supported the premium totaling 59 90.

Henry Morgenthau Jr announces policy inside Roosevelt approved plan to free millions in crop subsidy payments to cotton and wheat farmers. Cotton growers who plow up 25 to 50 percent of crops will receive payments without deductions for seed and crop loans. Related feed loans and waivers apply if not third party endorsed or discounted.
