Sunshine Special outing delights Stamford youngsters
More than two hundred Stamford children enjoyed a Sunshine Special picnic with the Stamford Exchange Club at the Lueders Encampment grounds. A parade with a locomotive float, swimming, food, games, and music filled the afternoon. The event ended at 5:30 pm. organizers led by H. G. Andrews plan to make it an annual affair.

Forty seven Added to Corinth Church After Revival
The Corinth Baptist Church south of Stamford ended a revival on August 4 adding 47 members to the church. Thirty three were baptized and fourteen came by letter. Rev. C. C. Scott preached. Johnnie Agnew Jr. and wife directed the music. It was Scott’s first revival and ten months since his ordination.

Residence East Of City Destroyed By Fire
A small residence east of the city belonging to Tom Elliott and occupied by Bob Weldon was destroyed by fire about 2 o'clock Tuesday morning. The Weldon family was away. Origin undetermined. Elliott carried 1200 insurance with Warren B. Tayman. Weldon had 500 on furniture with Upshaw & Upshaw.

Revival Meeting Draws Large Crowds at Berryhill
The Berryhill church revival, started Friday night, attracts large crowds led by Rev. T. L. Kilpatrick of Leeders Baptist church. Kilpatrick spoke in Stamford Tuesday. D. K. Allen of Graham leads the singing. The meeting closes Sunday and Kilpatrick will hold another session at Bumpas Hill next week.

Cowboy Evans Well Poised to Reach Pay Sand
Two Reynolds field wells near Stamford are near pay sand. The Cowboy Evans well, after 18 million feet gas at shallow depth, is set to reach oil sand around 1800 feet this Friday with earlier wet gas flow near 1707 feet. King Addresses Rotary on Movie Industry
Burt King spoke at the Rotary Club noon meeting about talking pictures. West Texas Chamber of Commerce agri leaders plan a second Educational Motorcade leaving August 20 for fourteen days and over 5000 miles to California. Dick Rowland chief of the Stamford volunteer fire department director of the Firemen's Band and Rotary orchestra was chosen by the Stamford American Legion as the citys most distinguished citizen for the past year.
