Burial followed by Dennis-Barrow Funeral Home sent remains to Cush ing Oklahoma for service and burial near his wife in Dardenelle Arkansas. He lived in Stamford 10 years and was a Georgia native born October 3 1861. He belonged to the Baptist Church and the Masonic lodge since 1923. Survivors include six sons two sisters and a brother plus ten grandchildren.

The second annual Thomas family reunion for James and Rachel Thomas descendants met at Lueders Baptist Encampment grounds over Friday to Sunday. Stamford residents attended the Spur funeral for Doc Ellis foreman of the S. M. 8 Spur ranch for 34 years. He died from a ruptured appendix in a local hospital last Thursday. Attendees included A. J. Miss Middleton Heads to Florida Cuba Trip

Mrs Rebecca Ruff aged 89 died at her home on North Swenson Avenue Saturday after two years of ill health. Abilene Council Delays Action on Bakery Truck Arrests
Abilene city council and local bakery representatives reached a conference agreement to delay arrests of drivers from out of town bakeries pending an injunction hearing in district court. Mrs Bairds Fort Worth and Mead Taystee bakers were involved. a hearing is set for November 1. The council also plans amendments to the cleaning ordinance to exclude washer women from licensing.

Building for Produce House Being Erected
The Banner Produce Company is constructing a new 30 by 40 foot steel building for its Stamford branch south of the Howard building on Wetherbee street. It will house a cream room vault office and a poultry division with heavy wire sides for ventilation and a concrete floor. Construction began last week and should be campus in about two weeks, says local manager T. Jasner.
