Stamford American Cooking School Crowds Break Records
The sixth annual Stamford American cooking school closed with record attendance on Wednesday, after larger crowds on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Gertrude Burbank demonstrated new recipes with help from Miss Virginia Blair of West Texas Utilities. Prizes awarded included first to Mrs. L. S. Furrh for cake baking, second to Mrs. John Vanmeter, and other prizes to Mrs. W. P. Lyles, Mrs. W. M. Carlton, Mrs. A. E. Nowlin, and Mrs. McClung for large families and cake entries. Approximately 150 attendance prizes were given, with a grand prize mix master to Mrs. Harry Johnson.

Fire Destroys McGregor Home Near Stamford
The home of Mrs. S McGregor two miles east of Stamford was completely destroyed by fire around 5 PM Wednesday. The Stamford fire department confined the blaze using booster water and a windmill tank. Mrs. McGregor’s daughter Mrs. Wilmot Dougharty and family also lived there. virtually all household effects were lost.
