Women Workers Of Presbyterial Gather In Stamford
The Auxiliary of the Central Presbyterian Church hosts the forty-ninth annual meeting of the Women s Presbyterial Missionary Society of the Abilene Presbytery on April 14 and 15. Mrs. Taylor Gurney, missionary to Syria, will give the keynote address and again speak the next day. Mrs. A B Haynes of Houston will present the four year plan and conduct officer installations. Stamford and area women and several visitors attend as committees arrange sessions, music, and fellowship events.

Revival Services At St Johns Methodist Led By Rev R J Kennedy
Rev Robert J Kennedy of Dallas leads revival services at St Johns Methodist Church starting Sunday through Easter. Four daily general services are held with morning sessions at 10 oclock, children's at 415 pm, youth at 730 pm, and the evening evangelistic service at 8. Kennedy has conducted about 300 meetings in 30 states and Canada. The St Johns choir enhances the meetings with hymns and the Hallelujah Chorus on Sunday. The topics include Tragedies of Life, The Christ at the Door, Loyalty Night, The Christian Race, He Is Risen, and Gods Last Gall to Man.

Funeral Service For H. A. Turner Held Thursday
H. A. Turner age 68 died after a flu relapse and was buried in Highland cemetery. The service was held at Kinney Funeral chapel with Rev. J B McCarley assisted by Rev. Robert J. Kennedy and Rev. Dick O’Brien. Turner born September 22 1872 in Alabama came to Texas as a youth and lived in Jones county sixty years. Survivors include his wife Ina Meadows a son C J Turner of Jackson California two daughters Pearl Thompson and D R Humphrey of Stamford four grandchildren and his mother Mrs A E Turner and brother W D Turner of Stamford. Flower girls and pallbearers were named.

Funeral services were held in Aspermont for Miss Della Bryson age 26 who died from an accidental gunshot wound at an El Paso hospital. She was a Hamlin High School graduate and a Hardin-Simmons University alumna. Burial followed at Aspermont cemetery with Kinney Funeral Home in charge.
