Chamber of Commerce Managers Set Convention in Stamford
The fourth annual Chamber of Commerce managers convention will convene in Stamford April 18 and 19 with 60 to 75 managers and wives expected. Activities include registration at 10 a.m., a noon luncheon with the Exchange Club, talks by Tom Hardin and Jim Netts, a 3:45 p.m. tour of Lou Foote Flying school, an informal banquet, and a dance with Chuck Collins and his orchestra.

Born September 17 1875 in Lourens South Carolina. He moved from Perryton to Jones County in 1933.

Boy Narrowly Survives Hanging by Shirt in Tree
Donnie Dale Rappe six, son of Mr and Mrs C E Rappe, escaped death Monday afternoon when his shirt snagged on a tree limb while playing. Jack London driving by saw the dangling arms, stopped, revived him, and carried the boy inside. Mrs Rappe was unaware until London returned with the child.

Mrs. Louisiana Thomas Young died near Hamlin at 93 after a year bedridden. Funeral service was held at Kinney Funeral chapel with Rev. Dick O’Brien officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Born May 20 1847 in Manchester Tennessee she moved to Jones County in 1905. She leaves two sons A L Young of Hamlin and Ed Youne of Canute Oklahoma eight grandchildren fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
