High Prices at Leaf Tobacco Sales Across Two Warehouses
The Farmers Loose Leaf Tobacco Warehouse Co. and the Washington County Tobacco Warehouse Co. held their first leaf tobacco sales this morning. Buyers were numerous and bidding strong, returning good prices for all grades. Farmers sold 22,500 pounds at 9 to 17 cents average 13 cents, while Washington County sold 26,000 pounds at 9 to 18 cents average 13 cents. Sales will continue daily at each Winbeale site except Mondays during the season.

Chicago market reports show light buyers and steady cattle prices
In Louisville on Oct 26 cattle receipts reached 291 with 3,397 over two days. Demand was light with local traders and butchers dominating. Highest grade cattle held steady, others dull. Calves dull, cows unchanged. Hogs receipts 1,257 with two day total 7,984. Prices 7.60 to 7.70 for 165+ lbs, 7.30 to 7.40 for 180 to 165 lbs, pigs 6.50 to 7.15, roughs 9.60 and down. Sheep and lambs receipts 56, two days 371. Fat sheep 3.3, best lambs 5.60, butcher lambs 5.54. Wheat prices cited at 275, corn and oats quoted as well.

Pursuant to an order of the District Board of the Burley Tobacco Society no election has been held in this county. Persons who pooled tobacco from the 1909 crop are notified to meet at the regular voting place in each precinct on Tuesday Nov 2 at 2 o'clock to elect a precinct chairman of the Washington County Board of Control. Stock Sale At Wathen Farm Nets Over Five Thousand

Springfield High School beat Harrodsburg High 11 to 5 on last Saturday’s ground. Harrodsburg led 6–0 at halftime before Springfield scored two touchdowns and a goal in the second half. Poor weather kept attendance small as both teams played good ball and kept the game interesting.
