Death of Robert Mellvoy a respected Washington County citizen
Mr Robert Mellvoy aged seventy two died at his home in Wittsburg last Thursday night at 9 o clock from blood poisoning after a briar wound led to erysipelas. He leaves a wife and seven children. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church and burial followed in St Dominic's cemetery. He was a charitable man beloved by many in the county. His father Daniel Mellvoy immigrated from Ireland around 1800.

Mr A L Perkins received a letter from Will H Talbott of Orleans Ind stating his son in law Lee Kensey shot Alonzo Mead at Orleans on October 14 and was acquitted in a preliminary court. The grand jury may meet October 30 but an indictment is not expected as self defense was shown. The Nebraska Supreme Court upheld the anti cigarette law.
