People will rule in a pivotal election essay review

The Corner Journal editor argues that Taft’s victory would perpetuate 30 years of favoritism and trust control in government. He warns of a centralized federal power, roving party bosses, and the rise of “one-man power” under Roosevelt’s influence, urging readers to favor Taft’s defeat and defend constitutional limits. The piece casts Bryan as a minor but positive force and contrasts reform promises with monopolistic pressures.
