Edwin Dragoo farmer and Miss Lucy Bland of Washington county Kentucky wed in Jeffersonville yesterday by Magistrate Charles S. Hay. The groom's first wife died in 1906. The 18 year old bride, a Marion county Kentucky native, is daughter of Marion Bland of Springfield Kentucky.

Death of Aged Woman Skeanes

Tuesday morning at 5:30 o clock Mrs Lavina Skeanes died at her son Tom Skeanes home after a long illness aged 80 years. She joined the Baptist church sixty four years ago and leaves four children and other relatives. The remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground Wednesday morning. Death of Uncle Jack Roundtree Peg Leg

The Springfield community mourns Uncle Jack Roundtree known as Peg Leg who died early Monday at about eighty. A former slave of the McChord family he became a shoemaker and remained loyal to kind white friends. Funeral services were held at St Domnie’s Catholic church yesterday morning. Harrodsburg Herald reports in Jessamine county Raymond Davis, eighteen, shot and gravely wounded his mother Mrs Hester Davis after a quarrel. Davis claimed she struck him first and he threatened to shoot himself. In the scramble the gun discharged injuring Mrs Davis in the stomach. doctors Welsh and Fish said her condition very critical and she said the shooting was not accidental.

Youth Held In House Breaking Case In County Court

Ben Lancaster, an 18 year old colored boy, was held over on an examining trial before County Judge B. L. Litsey after being accused of entering Mrs. Laura West’s house two miles below town and stealing a pair of trousers. He remains held under bond to answer to the grand jury.
