Indian Dies and Returns to Life Fullblood Cherokee Man’s Vision
Muskogee Oklahoma Territory reports Cherokee Fullblood Catron claiming death and resurrection near Tahlequah. He says he saw heaven and hell and learned his race’s place in the next world. He purchased a suitcase, traveled toward Washington, preached to crowds, and now awaits a mission for his people. The tale spreads among tribes along the Illinois River.
