Evangelist Sam P. Jones Dies on Train in Arkansas

The Rev. Sam P. Jones, famed Methodist evangelist, died suddenly on a Rock Island train near Perry Arkansas while returning to Cartersville Georgia from Oklahoma City. He collapsed after stomach distress and heart failure. Surrounded by family, his body was prepared in Little Rock and sent to Georgia. Mrs. Jones Annie Pyron Julia Jones and Rev Walt Holcomb were with him.

Glen Anne stock farm sale yields diverse acreage and stock

Burley Growers Press Plan to Organize in Kentucky District

Winchester Ky Oct 13—The Burley Tobacco Society with the American Society of Equity aims to organize Burley growers in Kentucky Indiana Ohio and West Virginia to pool tobacco and brand prices. A November meeting in Winchester will establish permanent headquarters to propagate the plan and counteract unorganized growers and buyer power.
