Tragic Cottage Fire Claims Burdett Child in Lebanon County
A three year old, Georgie Cleo Burdett, died after clothing caught fire from a grate at the Burdett home on Miller Pike near Lebanon. The mother, Mrs. John T. Burdett, and an old cook fought the flames. the infant was alone with a one year old nearby when the blaze started. The child died at six o'clock, three hours after the accident. The mother was burned while trying to save her daughter. The cause of ignition remains undetermined.

Mrs. Miles Osbourne died Friday afternoon at her St Rose home from pneumonia. A devout Catholic, she was born Miss Hamilton in Marion county and lived in Washington county since marriage. She leaves a husband seven children two brothers and three sisters. Funeral and interment were held at St Rose on Sunday with a large crowd paying tribute to an esteemed, gentle woman.
